The recipient of the 2016 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Cassidy Sanders from Garner Magnet High School.
Cassidy will be attending UNC Wilmington and majoring in Nursing in the fall. The Scholarship was presented to her at the Awards Ceremony on May 9, 2016. Excerpt from Cassidy’s essay: "Music is one of my passions. I am a die-hard lover of music. I am a self-taught pianist and guitarist and I love to sing. I am enthralled by the expression and experience of emotion that music provides where words fail. Music does not discriminate; it heals inspires."
