The recipient of the 2020 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Erika Cruz Llivicota from East Side High School.
An excerpt from Erika’s essay: "Arriving in the United States was a radical change, a huge challenge in my life because everything was different, the language, the culture, and my surroundings. Even though, it was very difficult to adapt to a new culture and country during my teenage years, I knew that I could not disappoint my parents. The huge sacrifice that they made to bring me here always drives me to overcome obstacles that stand in my way...."
